Dialogue - "misfits opening"

The purpose of the dialogue used is a lot of things to grab the audiences attention for them to then be interested to watch the rest of the episode and other episodes. In the opening they establish the characters and show the audience their different personalities and backgrounds of their lives with the way they act and speak. It sets us off with the tone of programme so we know what is is like and what genre it is all focused on.

Nathan's tone is very sarcastic and mischievous, he is the only one in the clip who says the most and he is the first one to speak first apart from their leader and he comes out with a very clear voice taking the mickey almost in a really playful way. Nathan is very confident and natural with the way he talks.
He has a Irish accent which is soft and sometimes sounds like it has music to it and his voice is rhythmical.
It shows us that Nathan is very daring and likes to go a step forward as he gets in trouble with Gary who is standing next to him, for example when he makes out like Gary is born to be a criminal. Even though a lot of what Nathan does could come across annoying, he doesn't swear once and he comes across very witty and intelligent with what he responds to the leader when he says "what if we are" and questioning what other people might not even be thinking. The volume of Nathans voice is very loud and takes over a lot of the other characters conversation.

Simon is called the "weird kid" he is very quiet and doesn't say a word at all in the opening of the episode. No one acknowledges him apart from Nathan who asks him if he's okay and then calls him the weird kid and Alisha looks him up and down. The fact Simon doesn't speak doesn't tell us a lot about his voice but it does show the audience that he is a very shy character who is going to be rather secret and mysterious in the series as he doesn't give a lot away in the first place.

Gary is also one of the characters who do speak. It shows us that he gets wound up easily by Nathan, he is also a loud character who is quite violent and we know this by the tone of his voice as he shouts a lot and talks in a aggressive manor.

Kelly speaks out of the blue to Nathan and Gary with a very --- accent and the boys say it's "just a noise" they can hear and that they don't understand her. Her accent makes her sound very chavy and her appearance also shows us this as well. Kelly s voice is very loud and it comes across that she doesn't really care what she says. She has a lot of attitude and it comes across that she can be bothered to put up with the boys immature behavior
Alisha has got attitude as well, she doesn't say much until her phone rings and starts talking to her friend on the phone. When we hear her talking she says to her friend "don't be disgusting  when she talks about the leader which suggest her friend asked a dirty question and this may show us what type on person Alisha is like. Her tone of voice is confident as she talks back to the leader in a rude way, her way of moving is also quite sassy compared to the other characters.

Curtis is a more calm character who claims he shouldn't be with the rest of the group and asks if he can move. This shows us that he feels that he is better than all the other characters and more important, his tone is voice is very quite and laid back which shows us he's not a argumentative or angry person like Gary.
