Right of use
What is the difference between publishing rights and recording rights?
The difference between publishing rights and recording rights is that publishing rights is when you get personal permission from the agency or manager directly and you ask them to use their music because they own it and have the rights to give it out. For example that means a record label giving permission for the artists music because they own the rights to it. Recording rights is when you get permission from the actual artists for example asking the band members or the artists themselves to use their music, this includes covers of songs.

My choice in music
In my film i used a lot of music off of free sound. Throughout the whole film apart from one scene i used atmospheric mysterious music quietly in the background to create atmosphere and then the different parts that needed music was sound effects like the special effect sounds and simple things like opening the door or footsteps. I also got a lot of ambient sounds on free sound to set the background and create the story better.
