180 degree rule. This is to show what is going on between one character and another character within a scene. This means the camera only shows half of the whole room and never the other half as it only turns 180 degrees between two people, there is always a "imaginary line" which is there for the camera to go on and not move from. This is used so the audience know exactly what is going on and so they don't get confused.
Eye line match.
This is when someone in the scene is looking at something and then the audience wonders what they're looking at so the eye line match is when they then cut straight to what the character is then looking at so the audience then get to see. In films they normally flick on and off the different things at what the character might be looking at or what two characters might be doing.
Match on action.
Match on action is when in a film they get a shot of the action and what is happening for example if someone was throwing a ball, instead of them throwing it and the camera being at a long shot they do two close ups but when the ball has left the first characters hand the shot quickly cuts to the second character catching the ball.
